Today at Prime Minister's Questions, Richard Holden MP's work at bringing about a 16 bed unit to Shotley Bridge Hospital was hailed by the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Richard inherited an 8-bed community hospital unit at Shotley Bridge community hospital from the previous administration, which had been downgraded to a 0 bed facility as he took up the reins as MP for North West Durham.
Under pressure from himself and local activists, a 16 bed unit is now in the final stages of planning.
The Prime Minister was "delighted to see there is a hospital being built at Shotley bridge", and that he looks forward to seeing its completion.
