Coronation

The Coronation of HM The King is only a few days away now, with the date of this historical event fast approaching! This is a great opportunity for friends and neighbours to come together to mark the occasion.

Richard was so lucky to have been picked out of the ballot of MPs to attend the Coronation in person, allowing him to represent all of you in Westminster Abbey. He will be accompanied by the fantastic card of one lucky winner, so keep your eyes peeled for the big reveal of my Coronation Card winner!

Lots of our towns and villages are planning celebrations and it was great to see that Tow Law has been awarded £8,500 from the National Lottery Community Fund! This money will be used to deliver art, poetry, cookery and history-based activities to over 200 children aged 4–11 from Tow Law to celebrate the Coronation. Hopefully, they will remember this momentous day for the rest of their lives, as people did with the Queen’s.

Commenting, Richard Holden MP said:

"I’ll be in North West Durham before and after the Coronation and I’m looking forward to popping by lots of events in our streets, beautiful parks and village greens. If you haven’t organised something yet, it doesn’t have to be huge but it might be a nice excuse to see loved ones you haven’t seen in a while.

"If you’re hosting an event and haven’t been in touch, do get in touch and I’ll try to be there!

"God Save The King!"
