Richard's Good News Story of the Week concerned a constituent who had a credit rating issue:
"Ms A of Basildon came to us with a very annoying problem. Her credit rating was being affected because of some issues her twin sister had in the past and had been added in error to her credit report, affecting her credit rating.
"She’d been to the Financial Ombudsman Service - the right move - and they’d found in her favour BUT the credit referencing agency still hadn’t updated their records (which are used by banks etc across the U.K.) After Ms A got in touch with me and my team, we contacted the agency in question and got them to sort out their error, and Ms A got £150 from them as an apology too.
"There’s nothing my team and I like more than being able to help and share good news with constituents across Basildon and Billericay. And while we won’t be able to win in every situation, we’ll always do our best.
