Richard has supported Armed Forces Day 2025 by attending a service in Parliament.
Speaking after the event, Richard said:
"Today we remember and honour the brave men and women who serve, or have served, in our Armed Forces. Their dedication, courage, and sacrifice keep us safe and uphold the freedoms we all enjoy.
Across Basildon and Billericay, we’re proud of our service personnel, our veterans, and the families who support them. From young cadets to long-serving veterans, today is about recognising all those who wear the uniform with pride.
It’s also a moment to thank those who continue to support our veterans locally – including the fantastic Basildon Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club, which brings former servicemen and women together in friendship and solidarity.
From all of us: thank you for your service and for keeping our country safe."
