Richard met up with the Jack Petchey Foundation in Parliament recently.
Speaking after the meeting, Richard said:
"Great to meet with Gemma, the CEO of the Jack Petchey Foundation to hear more about the fantastic work they do supporting young people across London and Essex.
Founded by Sir Jack Petchey, the Foundation has invested more than £180 million since 1999 in programmes that inspire young people aged 11–25 to build confidence, develop new skills, and reach their full potential. From celebrating achievements through their award schemes to empowering young voices through initiatives like public speaking and youth leadership programmes, their impact on young people in our area is truly impressive.
It was great to discuss how we can continue championing opportunities that help young people thrive and make a positive contribution to their communities. I am excited to be attending the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Events at the Towngate Theatre in September and seeing their work continue to inspire the next generation.
If you are involved in a voluntary group supporting young people in this age range in Basildon and Billericay then check out both their programme and the grants available for organisations like yours on their website here: www.jackpetcheyfoundation.org.uk"
