Richard visited the Ramsden Bellhouse Baptist Church for its 100th Anniversary,
After the event, he said:
"It was lovely to join the congregation at Ramsden Bellhouse Baptist Church at the start of summer to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their church.
It’s such a friendly congregation and I was delighted that they invited me along to join them in their celebrations. It’s amazing that so many churches in Basildon and Billericay have hit the 100 years mark recently, with some others being much, much older.
It shows the strength of faith and community we have locally that our churches are reaching these milestones. And it also shows the connection between Christianity and Parliament, as Herbert Looker, MP for South East Essex, was here when the foundation stones for the church were laid 100 years ago.
A huge well done to everyone at the church for all their efforts over the past century."
