Richard expresses sympathy for people and families affected by the devastating and destructive fire in Vange, Basildon.
Commenting on the matter, Richard said:
"My thoughts are with the people and families that were affected last night by the fire in Rookyards, Vange, Basildon.
It’s heart-breaking to see that people have lost so much of what they’ve built, and I really hope they are able to recover. It’s been lovely to see the community rally around the residents. It shows that we are all here for each other.
A huge thanks to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service, East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust, Essex Police, Basildon Borough Council, and local people for the help they have offered to the residents and community.
The Council is raising money for the residents to help support them. If you can help and donate, please do it here: www.gofundme.com/f/rookyards-in-basildon-fire-support
