Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham, has seen the successful outcome of a casework issue.
A constituent from Frosterley contacted Richard as cars were regularly driving on to her land and she enquired as to whether it would be possible to have a road sign put up that would prevent this issue. Richard’s office contacted the council and spoke to the Neighbourhoods and Climate Change department within Durham County Council.
The council visited the constituent and installed a sign on the road leading to the constituent’s property stating that it was not a through road and had another sign installed with directions to ensure that drivers did not drive up to the constituent’s property and near to her land.
Commenting, Richard stated:
“I am really pleased that this case was resolved so quickly and that my constituent is pleased with the outcome. I know that things like this may seem small, but resolving these issues are incredibly important to people across North West Durham and seeing issues like this sorted out is what being an MP is all about – helping people. Things like this can be really frustrating and can have a huge impact on people feeling comfortable in their own homes.
“I hope that this case demonstrates that there is no issue that I won’t look into and that myself and my team are always here to help or advise if there is anything you want to discuss.
“I want to thank my team for their hard work in this case and thank the council for resolving the issue.”
