Last year Richard Holden put out his first Christmas card competition to children across our constituency, asking them to each send in a design for the card, with Amelia, aged 10, winning a House of Commons teddy bear.
Following his Back to School writing competition, Richard Holden has written again this year to the heads of all the local primary schools, to get as many children as possible involved.
Richard Holden wrote:
“I would like to invite your pupils to take part in my Christmas card design competition.
The winning design will be my Christmas card for 2021 and will be sent to over 1000 people who I have met since becoming the MP for NW Durham and will also be presented to the Prime Minister.
“All entries must be sent into my constituency office, 25-27 Medomsley Road, Consett DH8 5HE or can be sent by email to my Constituency Secretary, alison.hirst@parliament.uk by Friday 22nd October.
“Please ensure that the entry includes the name and either address, telephone number or email so that we can contact the winner.
“The winner will be chosen by myself and after last year’s fantastic entries, I am looking forward to choosing the winner.
“The winner will be contacted by Friday 5th November.”
