Richard Holden's North West Durham key local issues weekly update.
In his video, Richard comments:
"First of all, I hope you have all had a great and sunny Easter! I’m back in parliament this week after a recess full of important constituency visits. Among other things, I:
- Met with the PCVC down in #Crook. There are clearly ongoing issues of anti-social behaviour, which are affecting the local community in both Crook and #Willington that need to be addressed. I know that Crook Police are working on it and I’ll be ensuring that the PCVC gives them the resources they need
- Have some great work going on #Dipton, where I’ve been helping local people hold Northern Powergrid to account, and I am also delighted to be backing the local campaign for a Puffin crossing in the village, a vital improvement.
- I also visited Wolsingham Parish council to see what kinds of local issues they are dealing with at the minute. As always, if you want me to come to speak to your parish council I would love to hear your thoughts.
- Terrific meeting with @Weardale surgery in Stanhope – was really brilliant to see all the local surgeries open in Chapel and Wolsingham as we bounce back from this pandemic. I also want to see primary care really brought to the fore – and get more GP appointments for all.
- And *** Good news story alert! *** - one of my constituents who is a pensioner from Consett got £8,500 from the department for Work and Pensions after getting in touch with my office! If you think you might be owed money, do not hesitate to email my constituency office via www.richardholden.org.uk/contact
"Now for a busy couple few days in parliament before I head back up home to North West Durham!"
