Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham, has today raised the issue of allegations and the media when speaking in Parliament. You can watch Richard speak in the House of Commons about it here.
Richard raised this issue during questions to Michael Gove, the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster and Minister for the Cabinet Office. Richard stressed that allegations are just allegations and that they need careful and thorough investigation. He commented that everyone is entitled to avoid a trial by media. The Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster agreed with Richard and commented on the role of Ministers generally, the Conservative Party's General Election Manifesto for the 2019 general election and the role of the media.
