Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham, has today spoken in the House of Commons about care homes.
Following a call with care homes in North West Durham last week, Richard wrote to Helen Whately MP, the Minister of State for Social Care, to raise the concerns that care homes had spoken about on the call. The concerns the care homes raised centred around ensuring they had continued access to vital PPE, provision of the flu vaccine and testing for coronavirus.
Speaking in the House of Commons during a General debate on Covid-19, Richard again raised the issues that had been flagged on the call, and also raised the issue of people being able to safely visit care home residents.
