Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham, has welcomed the comments that Andrew Jones, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, made in the House of Commons about the FA Vase Final.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, the FA Vase is set to be played behind closed doors, meaning that Consett AFC fans and club supporters will be unable to attend. Previously, during Digital, Culture, Media and Sport Questions, Richard has raised this issue and urged Minister John Whittingdale, Minister of State for Media and Data, to speak to both colleagues and the FA to see if Consett will be able to have fans attend its first match at Wembley Stadium in over 120 years. Andrew Jones MP has now spoken about this during Prime Minister's Questions and asked that the Prime Minister join them in requesting that all matches be rescheduled to allow fans to attend. The Prime Minister stated he hoped that the FA will 'listen carefully' to MP's requests.
