Richard and the Leader of the Opposition, Kemi Badenoch, announced their plan for drivers.
Speaking afterwards, Richard said:
"Keir Starmer has launched a war on drivers.
Under Labour, you wait six months to take a driving test, pay through the nose at the pump, crawl through blanket 20mph zones the council never really asked anyone about, then hit a pothole that writes off your suspension.
Enough is enough. Conservatives know that hardworking families and businesses need their cars. That’s why Richard Holden and I have launched Our Plan For Drivers.
Our plan:
Axe the Fuel Duty Hike.
Scrap Labour’s ban on petrol and diesel cars and vans.
End blanket 20mph limits.
Free up bus lanes and stop 24/7 restrictions.
200,000 more driving tests to clear the backlog.
Create a National Pothole Patrol.
And it’s fully funded through our £47bn savings plan, including by cutting welfare.
Conservatives will get Britain moving again!"
