Richard recently visited Brightside Primary to speak at assemblies.
Speaking after the visit, Richard said:
"Down at Brightside Primary School in Billericay recently where I spoke at assemblies for both the juniors and the infants.
It was such fun to get the students involved and split into the House of Lords and House of Commons, along with them having their own Queen, prime minister and opposition leader. It’s great getting the children interacting like this and have them engage with the idea of parliamentary democracy. It’s also always lovely to hear what they think about different issues and hear their questions.
They were so attentive and engaged in the process, and I dare say there could be a few future MPs and Peers in their ranks!
Even the littler ones were lovely to chat to and showed a keen interest in what an MP does, with some brilliant questions that I was not expecting.
I look forward to my next visit to Brightside. If I’ve not yet made it to your child’s school, please drop me a line through my website and my team will get in touch to arrange a visit: www.richardholden.org.uk/contact."
