Over the weekend, Richard ran and helped out at the parkrun and junior parkrun in Billericay.
Speaking afterwards, Richard said:
"I’ve had an amazing weekend running Billericay parkrun on Saturday morning and volunteering with Lake Meadows junior parkrun this morning in Billericay.
After going on my first ever parkrun in Basildon and Billericay in December, I was glad to be back! And beat my first parkrun by 5 minutes! It’s lovely being at the Park Run because of the amazing support and motivation that the volunteers at Billericay parkrun have given me.
But it’s important to give back when you can, so that’s why I helped volunteer for the junior parkrun with the brilliant little runners. I cannot believe how fast some of them are - much, much faster than me - and I’m very grateful to them for not running yesterday where they would’ve lapped me multiple times!
The volunteers I met today are all so amazing and everyone involved were just really friendly and great. Taking time out of your morning on a weekend is such a good way to give back to your community and I’m very glad to have been involved.
Both the adult and junior parkruns can always do with more volunteers, so if you find yourself with a spare morning over the weekend, please reach out to their teams at: [email protected] & [email protected]."
