Richard recently showed his support for Catch a Bus month.
Speaking after the event, Richard said:
"Buses boost local economies, keep congestion and pollution down, and keep people connected. Every day, around 10 million journeys are made by bus – making up around 60% of all public transport journeys.
It was fantastic to join the Bus APPG’s specially branded double-decker outside Parliament in support of the campaign, encouraging people to Get on Board.
Buses are a lifeline for communities across the country. That’s why, in Government, I was proud to champion the Get Around for £2 bus fare – helping more people access affordable, reliable public transport.
While it has been sad to see the new Government scrap the £2 fare and also increasing strikes on buses in some parts of the UK, they remain a vital public transport link.
I'm seeing our local bus company in Essex soon, so if you've any questions or thoughts please drop me a message via www.richardholden.org.uk/contact and I'll ask them and write back to you."
