Richard attended a drop-in event in Parliament to discuss community pharmacies.
Speaking after the event, Richard said:
"It was really interesting to hear more about the crucial role community pharmacies play in Basildon and Billericay. Pharmacy teams are doing great work delivering care closer to home, but I heard loudly and clearly that more support is needed to ensure they are able to continue to provide what the NHS and, crucially, members of the public, need.
We must protect our community pharmacies, and work closely with local pharmacists to ensure they have sufficient resources to keep pharmacy doors open, so I’m grateful for Community Pharmacy England for hosting an event in Parliament.
I’m visiting the pharmacy in Noak Bridge next week to learn more about the issues facing them on a local level and where the Government needs to step up, especially after its decision to reorganised the NHS in England."
