Recently Richard Holden visited Buttsbury Infant School's library bus! After the visit, he said:

"I had a really lovely time on my first visit to Buttsbury Infant School in Billericay just before the school holidays. I’ve been to the Junior Site plenty of times, so Mrs Robinson quite rightly said it was time to see the youngest students too!"

"We toured the school to see the brilliant facilities they have, though I confess my favourite part was the refurbished library bus they have out in the play area. Naturally, as Shadow Transport Secretary, I had to get a photo in the driving seat!"

"What I loved here is when Mrs Robinson asked the young students who’d like to come over to meet me, they all came storming to the bus and started picking out their favourite books. To them, it didn’t matter how long they were allowed to read, they were just so excited to start reading. I’m so supportive of keeping young people reading, and it’s great to see them starting so young and being so interested in it."

"I had no doubts, from my time at the Junior School, about how amazing these kids would be, and they completely exceeded my expectations too."

"A great school with such passionate staff and children that really love to be there – you couldn’t ask for more!"

"Best wishes and happy school holidays to all the children and young people across Basildon and Billericay."
