Yesterday, Richard Holden MP, was delight to take part in many of the activities at the Weardale Agricultural Show.
Held just outside St John's Chapel, the show, missed last year, did not shy from making up for last time. Farmers and visitors came from all across the Dale to enjoy the last of the summer days and delight in a much missed fanfare.
Commenting, Richard Holden MP said:
"Couldn’t have wished for a better day out. A huge thank you to the show Committee for inviting me to open the show and to the weather for being absolutely perfect.
"To everyone who took part in every aspect - from the superb dry stone wallers under the supervision of the Dry Stone Walling Association, to those showing off their skills in showjumping, baking, vegetable growing, flower arranging and everything inbetween! Great to see the Stanhope Silver Band back in force too.
"After 18 months of Covid restrictions it’s fabulous seeing North West Durham at its best with a proper local show kicking things off. I’m really looking forward to the Wolsingham and Stanhope shows next month too - I hope to see you there!"
