County Durham voted to leave the EU. One of my six ‘key promises’ to the North West Durham was to end the dither and delay of the previous Parliament and Get Brexit Done.
I backed Boris Johnson and voted in Parliament to take back control of our money, borders and laws.
I also voted for the Deal we now have with the EU, respecting our power as equal partners, and securing free access to trade in goods so North West Durham can continue to prosper.
As we move towards renewed Global Britain, I will continue to push the Government to ensure that what my constituents wanted to see from Brexit is made a reality, whether it’s changes to VAT, protecting our environment such as banning pulse fishing or working with companies like Nissan to make the most of our new trade deals.
I am proud to have Got Brexit Done and I now look to the future to build a truly Global Britain.
