With hundreds of fantastic entries sent through to my constituency office in #consett, it has been a tough challenge to pick a winner. This is my third annual Christmas card competition, and every year I am blown away by how many young creatives there are right across North West Durham!
The winner this year is the marvellous Faith Amelia Hutchinson, yr 6 at Our Lady and St Thomas Catholic Primary School, #Willington. She drew a snowman in stunning water colours which was simply fantastic. The colours she used were just so beautiful. I went to go see her at the school to gift her a House of Commons Teddy bear for her outstanding effort.
It was so tough to pick hers out of the literally hundreds of amazing designs. A few runners up she pipped to the post were:
Kayden at Peases West Primary School in #BillyRow, #Crook
Gabriella yr 6 at The Grove Primary School in Consett
Asia in S3 at Villa Real School Consett in Consett
Holly Rose at Consett Junior School
Every year there seem to be more and more, making it harder and harder to pick a winner.
Faith’s design will be seen by hundreds of other MPs, including the Prime Minister, my family and friends. Rishi was definitely impressed with the best of North West Durham.
Everyone worked so hard on their cards that I’ve written to every single one of the children who took part to thank them for their efforts. Well done to all who took part, please do look out for my letters coming through your post soon! For those that weren’t successful, keep your eyes peeled for more competitions next year.
Very best wishes and Merry Christmas to everyone who took part!
