Electric Vehicles in Sunniside
Recently, I popped by Sunniside community centre recently to chat to constituents at the lunch club and present them with a cheque for £18,000. On top of this transformational investment, it was extra-useful because I could see the centre needed some help with funding an electric vehicle charging point in the car park.
People without access to off-street parking will need to be able to charge their electric vehicles in the future, so it’s great Durham County Council is helping out people make this important switch, making the most of Central Government funding for this. Already, almost 300 sockets have been installed across the county.
After I got in touch with them, the Council began investigating whether they can install a charger at the community centre too.
