Mrs W of Consett, who is a pensioner and is particularly vulnerable due to her health difficulties, recently got in touch because she wanted to claim back her overpayment to British gas. Since energy prices had begun to come down thanks to the Prime Minister’s tough action on inflation, her account was over £1000 in credit.
British gas told her they could not reduce her plan or pay her back with no explanation. So, I got in touch with them to bring Mrs W’s case to their attention and get to the bottom of it. Following this, British Gas finally saw sense and allowed her to use her credit to pay the next three months’ bills.
