With the cold weather beginning to draw in and having seen very high fuel prices (which are now begininning to fall) naturally people look a bit harder at their energy bills. Mr G of Crawleyside recently got in touch and found himself in hundreds of pounds of credit on his energy account - more than necessary. After seeing his account, he tried to get a refund but kept hitting a brick wall.
At one time it was possible to ask for a refund once you hit £75 credit but British Gas just weren’t going to budge. So he came to me and my team. We helped unblock the issue and, as a result, they refunded him hundreds of pounds from his account in full.
It can often feel like a David and goliath struggle against the customer service arms of big public and private sector bodies. Part of my job is standing up for constituents who have been ignored. Whilst I can’t always guarantee a win like this, I will always make sure your voice is heard.
