My favourite of all –it's international sausage roll day today!
Sausage Roll Day is celebrated on June 5th every year to appreciate, eat, and relish the mixture of meat, seasoning, and buttery pastry. Historians think sausages have been eaten for over 2,000 years, making them one of the oldest consumed foods in the world.
While there’s lots of ways to cook sausages, you just can’t beat a good sausage roll. A Cooplands or Greggs usually hits the spot when I am out and about but I can’t get enough of home or hand made ones you find across North West Durham. Here I am eating a delicious latticed one from Knitsley Farm Shop! Just fantastic.
