Our local pubs and clubs are the beating heart of our towns and villages across North West Durham. They are absolutely vital to the fabric of our local communities.
We all know the hospitality sector has had an incredibly tough time over the last few years. That’s why, ever since Richard has been your Member of Parliament, he has fought tirelessly to support our local pubs & clubs wherever he can.
This has taken shape locally in running a pub of the year competition last year (watch out for this year’s!) as well as in Parliament by leading the campaign on beer duty for draught beer and to extend draught it cover smaller kegs of 20 litres to help the ‘on-license’.
Commenting, Richard Holden MP said:
"It was great to chat to the team from Long Live the Local continuing to campaign for lowering beer duty in Parliament the other day, I'm keen to support them in any way I can!
"I’m sure I’ll bump into you at the bar of one of many of our great hostelries soon."
