Today is National Numeracy Day, a day where we can celebrate numbers and how we use them in everyday life.
The day is designed to encourage people to feel curious about numbers, explore how they can benefit them in their day-to-day life and give them the confidence to develop and improve their numeracy skills.
A worrying number of adults have not got numeracy rates past primary school levels, and we need to address this head on. Improving education is the closest thing there is to a silver bullet to solving many of our issues. The Prime Minister’s objective to improving numeracy rates a central goal of his time in office is commendable, but today is about lifelong learning.

"Like many people, Maths has never been my strong point. Today is a great day to embrace this and try and improve wherever we can."
