I was keen to touch base with Northern Powergrid ahead of this winter and spoke to them last week after several constituents got in touch with localised ongoing issues in Langley Park and Dipton.
Although we saw some outages in the last week, their teams were prepared and responded swiftly and safely, restoring power to over 50,000 customers across Scotland and the North East whose power supply was impacted by the severe weather conditions. However, several constituents have raised an ongoing connection issue in Langley Park and NPG have assured me they’re working on a proper solution. We got an update today to say that a permanent solution has been found and customers shouldn’t experience issues going forward.
Since Storm Arwen, NPG have been far more proactive at keeping people informed of any disruption. It is better to work with them rather than against them on something so important. While I don’t want to see anyone impacted by extreme weather, this is a vast improvement on last time round.
However, please let me know if you need any assistance with NPG and and I will do all I can to voice your concerns and chase them down. I understand it can be incredibly stressful but I am here to help. Just message via www.richardholden.org.uk/contact
