Richard has been working hard with the Campaign for Real Ale Durham and nationally to deliver lower taxes for draught beer to help pubs in our towns and villages
He recently joined some local CAMRA members in North West Durham and the wider North East in The Grey Horse in Consett!
They represent over 150,000 beer drinkers and pub goers across the UK and do so much to support our much-loved hospitality sector. Pubs are the beating heart of our towns and villages, with award winning pubs and breweries right across North West Durham.
CAMRA’s campaign to promote and protect pubs and clubs as social centres and part of the UK’s cultural heritage is certainly one Richard could get behind.
Commenting, Richard Holden MP said:
"Our pubs and clubs have had such a tough time over the last few years, with the lockdowns and global inflationary pressures biting, I want to help them through.
"One of my big campaigns - to have a new lower duty for draught beer that helps local pubs compete and supports producers has been announced and kicks in in August this year. You can also help yourself by getting down and supporting your local too!"
