Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham, has announced the winner of his inaugural Christmas card competition.
Richard launched the competition a few weeks ago and children from across the constituency sent in designs to be featured on his Christmas card, which will be sent to the Prime Minister and around one thousand other people.
Amelia, aged 10, has now been announced as the winner and will be receiving a very special House of Commons teddy bear as her prize. All other children who entered will receive a handwritten letter of congratulations from Richard, as well as a prize.
Commenting, Richard said:
“I want to say a huge congratulations to Amelia – her design was absolutely brilliant, and, thanks to her, I have a brilliant Christmas card to send out.
“It was really hard to choose the winner – we had loads of entries that were of an incredibly high standard and I was delighted that so many children had put such an effort into the competition. They will all be receiving a well-deserved prize.
“Thank you and well done once more to Amelia, and I am already looking forward to launching next year’s competition.”
