Richard Holden MP today addressed the Rt Hon. Jacob Rees-Mogg MP, Leader of the House of Commons, to thank the organisations which have worked to put an end to virginity testing.
In December last year, Richard Holden launched his campaign to end virginity testing and hymenoplasty. Calling the practise 'mediaeval' he put his own bill to Parliament. You can read about it on the BBC, the MailOnline, Metro, The Express and The Independent.
Richard has since pushed on the issue and you can follow his campaign so far here. Still trying to outlaw the practise by tabling an amendment to the Health and Care Bill this afternoon, Richard Holden stood up beforehand to thank Karma Nirvana, the Iranian & Kurdish Women's Rights Organisation and the Middle Eastern Women's Society Organisation for their hard work campaigning with him.
