Richard Holden, MP for North West Durham, has today visited Karbon Homes in Consett.
Karbon Homes is a housing association that covers the North East of England and Yorkshire. They provide homes and services and own and manage around 30,000 properties, with new builds and homes being developed every year. They provide social rented, affordable homes and market rented homes, as well as developing shared ownership projects and market sale homes. They run different ownership and affordability schemes. They are run as a profit-for-a-purpose business, meaning all surplus funding they generate is invested back into properties and communities. They work with local authorities and councils across the UK.
Richard met with Lucy Hodgson, the Public Affairs Manager, Angela Hodgson, the Older Person’s Manager and Paul Fiddaman, the CEO, to discuss the work that Karbon Homes have been doing across North West Durham.
Commenting, Richard said ‘It was great to meet Lucy, Angela and Paul to hear about the work that Karbon Homes do and how they work alongside local councils and the community. My office has been contacted by tenants of Karbon Homes so it was really good to have the chance to talk things through with them and find out more about how they work and what they do, as well as how we can work together to for communities across the constituency. I want to thank them for taking the time to meet with me and am really looking forward to working closely with them over the next few years’.
