Richard and his team help a young officer cadet get onto her training course!
Having visited both 1409 Consett Squadron - Air Cadets and Durham Army Cadet Force in Consett and seen them parade at Remembrance Sunday’s since I was elected, I know just how they form a vital part of our towns and villages. They build confidence, resilience and friendship in a unique setting. As well as benefitting our local towns and villages, our young people benefit themselves by broadening their horizons and unlocking their potential.
That is why when Ms X Castleside got in touch about some difficulties she was having getting onto the Officer Cadet course due to a bottleneck at the Doctor’s office, I was keen to get the wheels in motion and ensure that she could get onto the course.
I was delighted that, after my team jumped into action, we unblocked the problem and ironed out the issues so they Ms X could enroll! It was especially nice to receive a thank you note explaining how thrilled she was with this outcome.
My favourite part of being an MP is being able to have a real impact on peoples’ day-to-day lives and hope that this event will be the starting point of a new chapter for Ms X!
