Thanks to Mrs Hammill for inviting me to St Bedes, and showing me around. I’ve been a couple of times before but it was great to meet some of the new senior leadership team as well as some of the Year 11 and 6th form pupils.
Throughout, it was clear to see the school’s focus on it’s students learning and great to see they’re expanding the 6th form curriculum to take on politics in the next academic year. Their positive approach clearly has a good impact on the pupils.
After my tour where I tasted some fine home-made biscuits, I had a really good Q&A session with sixth formers and year 11s interested in politics from Lanchester and across the area. Their questions were informed and challenging and it was good to meet so many engaged young students.
Everyone, staff and students alike, was great. I can’t wait to go back soon.
