Truly brilliant to go to Stacey’s Barbers in Consett to see Stacey at work. She offers a unique service to children with learning difficulties who have a tough time at a regular barbers. I had no idea this was an issue before I met her and saw her in action.
Children with autism and other sensory issues have real difficulties getting their hair cut. I heard stories of mothers having to pin their children down just to cut their hair just so it stops blocking their eyes. This is traumatic for the children as well as their parents who come to Stacey at the end of their tether.
Mams and Dads come from far and wide to come to this unique barbershop in Consett and Stacey also travels to help.
Stacey is so kind, it’s what makes it all work. I was more than happy to pop round to see her and delighted to try and help her with getting some kind of extra support for her important, and niche, work.
