Hanukkah is a Jewish festival that reaffirms the ideals of Judaism and commemorates in particular the rededication of the Second Temple of Jerusalem by the lighting of candles on each day of the festival.
It is always on the 25th day of Kislev in the Hebrew calendar, which is slightly different to our calendar. Every year, it falls on a slightly different day because the Hebrew calendar is based on both the Sun and the Moon.
It has been an extremely difficult few months for our Jewish community. So, I wish everyone a very happy Hanukkah. I hope next year will be more peaceful.
