Richard Holden MP meets Saudi Parliamentarians.
He comments:
"Not all easy conversations with the appointed Parliamentarians from Saudi Arabia’s Shukra Council (their appointed Parliament) this week in the House of Commons as they travelled to the U.K.. Politicians from all the main parties met the delegation in Westminster over several days this week.
"There are major areas of common interest - such as defence and aspects of security co-operation - but also areas we profoundly disagree on, such women's rights (though some progress has been made by the Saudis in recent years) and rights - where little progress has been made.
"Through international bodies like and Inter-Parliamentary Union, helps push our values around the world. Wherever we can we should pursue dialogue but never be afraid to ask difficult questions either - which I certainly did."
