Thank you so much to Kevin Meikle for inviting Richard to have a look around see the North East Autism Society’s working farm.
They do a fantastic job empowering and supporting autistic children, young people, adults and their families in the North East. It was great to see everyone mucking in on the farm.
Autism is a disability which affects how people communicate and interact with the world. More than one in 100 people are on the autism spectrum and there are around 700,000 autistic adults and children in the UK.
This group does so much to ensure autistic children , young people and adults can fulfil their potential, which sadly is not always the case. It was great to see North East Autism Society’s dedication in action first-hand. They have ambitious plans to repurpose some of the farm site into a training centre for adults with learning difficulties, which I want to see through to completion.
