Richard Holden MP was pleased to be invited to breakfast with the Chancellor Rishi Sunak at N11 Downing Street this morning.
Having over-turned Vehicle Excise Duty, read about it here, saving motorhome companies like Erwin Hymer and hundreds of jobs across North West Durham, Mr Holden was delighted to raise a number of local and national issues.
Although Mr Holden cannot comment on the details of his conversation, he and the Chancellor spoke about getting people back into work as furlough ends and job vacancies rise. They spoke also about NHS funding and how the money raised by the Social Care Levy would be put to best use to first clear NHS waiting lists.
Mr Holden met Mr Sunak on the need to keep finances sound over the long term and to do so with honest and reasoned taxation, fair across the country. Mr Holden then took the chance to press Mr Sunak on key campaigns ahead of the Budget and the Spending Review.
