Richard Holden, Member of Parliament for North West Durham, has written to Durham County Council along with his Conservative colleagues Dehenna Davison, Member of Parliament for Bishop Auckland and Paul Howell, Member of Parliament for Sedgefield, to promote the Do Business Local campaign that has recently been launched by the Do Business Network.
The Do Business Network is a business network that provides support to small businesses across the North East. The Do Business Local campaign aims to further support small businesses and boost the local economy by partnering with organisations to help them identify local suppliers and spend locally. The campaign aims to enable small businesses to meet more clients in order to grow.
Richard’s letter follows his successful campaign to get the motorhomes tax reversed – a tax that was having a detrimental effect on small businesses in North West Durham. You can read about this here.
Richard has written to the Council to draw their attention to the scheme and offer to provide further information and contact details for the Do Business Network.
Commenting, Richard Holden, Member of Parliament for North West Durham, said:
“It’s really important that we support our brilliant local businesses – not only now but also going forward. I’ve visited over 100 small businesses in the constituency and want to support them in any way I can.
“We are fortunate to have so many entrepreneurs in the North East and it’s only right that, as they contribute so much to our local economy and our local areas, we work to support them.
“I look forward to working with the Do Business Network and my Conservative colleagues on this campaign, and I hope that Durham County Council support the campaign alongside us.”
